  • Grace

Grace refuses to share her age, but those close to her think she’s north of 70. She’s widowed, with two children, three grandchildren, and Merc, the furry feline, so named because he was found in the dumpster at the Mercantile when he was a kitten. Her favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 9:8: “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Believing that truth, her life philosophy is “God is able.” Check out her website, www.LiveWellbyGrace.com.

  • Ben

For obvious reasons, Ben is the club’s heartthrob. With a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and 7 years’ experience as a person trainer, he exudes expertise. Though he loves seeing anyone improve their physical condition, his heart is with training overweight kids. When he’s not working, he’s training for triathlons or hanging out with his two Golden Retrievers, Stan & Abbey. His favorite passage comes from Psalm 37: “Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.” Given his strong faith, he regularly assures his clients, “God will change your affections when you focus your attention on Him.”

  • Max

As a retired Marine, overseeing the Strength Studio is a natural fit for Max. Much of his teaching comes from being a Boot Camp training sergeant. In his late 60’s, retired, widowed with three grown children, Holy Health Club is his primary focus. His favorite verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13), and his life philosophy is, “Walk through the hard places, one step at a time.”

  • Sun

You’ll find Sun overseeing the Stretching Salon, though she practices a very balanced exercise regimen, including regular weight training and yoga. She suffers from a past back injury, so takes special precautions to keep her back limber and strong. Her favorite verse is Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.” Her life philosophy is, “Movement is an act of worship.”

  • Luigi

What can we say about Luigi except he’s the chef extraordinaire. Though he loves all veggies and most fruits (he’s not a banana fan), it’s not his natural bent to cook healthfully. Who doesn’t like to make a sublime pastry! But his wife prods him to build up the Church with real food recipes. His favorite Scripture is “All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). (He reminds himself of that passage when he has a recipe disaster.) His life philosophy is, “Celebrate food!”

  • Cleo

Cleo brings color and joy to Holy Health Club. Effervescent. Ebullient. Extraordinary. The perfect member greeter. Not surprising, her favorite passage comes from Psalm 139:14: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” She lives by the mantra, “Embrace life gleefully!”
